ORDINANCE NO. 228

AN ORDINANCE LIMITING THE NUMBER OF DOGS AND CATS PER HOUSEHOLD

IN THE CITY OF GORHAM, KANSAS AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF THE ORDINANCE

On May 11, 2026, the Governing Body for the City of Gorham, Kansas, adopted Ordinance No. 228, which limits to four (4) the number of dogs and to four (4) the number of cats per household within the City of Gorham.   Exception to the ordinance are for new puppies and kittens up to five (5) months of age, licensed veterinarian and those licensed to care for animals under the Kansas Pet Animal Act.  The ordinance also establishes penalties for violation of the Ordinance.
